Price – hike in Bangladesh
( evsjv‡`‡k `ªe¨g~‡j¨i DaŸ©MwZ)
Price- hike is the unusual increase in the prices of daily necessaries. In Bangladesh it is a common phenomenon. Nowadays, this problem is getting worse day by day. Market syndicate and hoarding for huge profit are the main causes of price – hike. Natural disasters, lack of raw- materials, political instability and much inflation are also responsible for this. Price-hake has created a measurable condition in our society. The poor and the fixed income people are the main victims of price-hike. They suffer terribly from this problem .Beside, price –hike often gives rise to social crimes. Therefore, we should take proper and long-term steps to control price-hike. Market should be monitored strictly. Necessary steps should be taken to increase national production. Besides, money inflation must be checked to minimize the problem.

Junk Food
Junk Food’ is a food that has been produced for its pungent taste rather than for its health value. It is a great fun to eat and it can look very appealing, but it is not good for the body. It often contains added chemicals which make it taste soothing but are unhealthy. It usually contains a lot of animal fat or sugar. Foods like chips, burgers, crisps, cakes, biscuits, are high in animal fats. Sweets and fizzy drinks like cola and lemonade are high in sugar. When we eat a large amount of fat, our bodies turn into fatty tissue, and a large amount of sugar can damage our teeth and skin. Junk food lacks the vitamins and minerals we need. Although people occasionally eat junk food, the body does best when it is given a healthy balance of nutrients from freshly garden homemade foods.

He knows the time of his business. He usually comes out for hawking when the householders are out of home and when the women are free from their household words. A street hawker is very cunning. He buys things quite cheaply but makes a good profit from those things. He sells fancy goods like dolls, ribbons, toys and so on. He sells also fruits, clothes, vegetables and many other household things, He uses various tricks to draw the attention of the customers. Sometimes he puts on a traditional dress, sometimes he sings and dances to draw the attention of the customers. Women and children are mainly his customers. He works from morning to evening. He earns very little and live from hand to mouth. He is, in fact a very useful person who provides various necessary things for us.
Junk Food
‘Junk Food’ is a food that has been produced for its pungent taste rather than for its health value.

FOOD HABIT
(Lv`¨vfvm)

A proverb has ‘You are what you eat.’ It means if we eat healthy foods, we will be healthy. We eat junk food such as chips, burgers, crisps, cakes, biscuits etc. those are high in animal’s fat that won’t be fit and healthy. Our body needs a good mix of foods.  Food pyramid is a chart to show the five groups of foods. This chart also tells us how much of each group of food we should eat. If we see the bottom of the pyramid, they are breads, cereals, rice, noodles, potatoes etc. we should eat plenty of them. The second upper group we see some fresh fruits and vegetables. We must eat them regularly. As we go up the pyramid, we find dairy products meat, fish, nuts and eggs. We should eat these items moderately. They are important for health but we don’t need too much of them. We should remember that the most important meals of the day is breakfast. If we eat a healthy breakfast before leaving for school, we will feel strong and active the whole day.
